Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position with telemetry capability and night shifts, requiring a TX or compact RN license and EPIC experience.

• Work in a Medical-Surgical unit with telemetry capability in a hospital setting
• Patient population ranges from young adult to geriatric with broad medical-surgical needs
• Unit consists of 18 private rooms and one semi-private room, with a maximum census of 20 patients
• Patient ratios are typically 1:6
• Uses EPIC charting system; prior experience required
• Scheduling is 3x12 hour night shifts (19:00-07:30)
• Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Cares for a diverse patient population with varying acuity in a Med/Surg telemetry setting
• No travel pairs or groups are accepted for this assignment
• No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved; no time off allowed during the first week of orientation
• Standard hospital scrub attire is required
• First time travelers will not be considered for this assignment

• Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with EPIC charting system required
• Locals within 50 miles or residing in specified counties are not eligible
• Former permanent staff must have a 1-year break before returning as a traveler
