Join Our Team as an Oncology RN - Outpatient Chemo!

Job Description:

- Position: Registered Nurse specializing in Outpatient Chemotherapy
- Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30)
- Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role
- Travel Experience: Required
- Certification:
- BLS
- Chemotherapy certification through ONS/ONCC (Advanced preferred)

- Charting System: Epic required

- Patient Ratio:
- Days: 1:8

- Primary Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments
- Monitor patients for side effects and manage treatment responses
- Coordinate & support patient education regarding their care
- Handle psychosocial aspects including advanced directives and symptom management
- Manage oncologic emergencies (e.g., Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome, Sepsis, Anaphylaxis)
- Provide care for patients with various cancer diagnoses

- Skills Required:
- IV Therapy/Infusions
- Accessing and managing ports
- Central line blood draw and care
- Recognize/manage side effects of treatment

- Work Environment:
- Infusion Center
- Outpatient oncology settings

- Patient Demographics:
- Adults
- Daily Census:
Approximately 60

- Interdisciplinary Support:
- Collaboration with Social Services and Pharmacy

- Additional Details:
- Float required between units
- Pre-approved time off: 1 request
- Orientation hours: 8
