The Nurse Navigator provides coordinated, patient-centered care across the continuum for patients undergoing elective orthopedic and spine procedures. This role serves as a clinical liaison between patients, surgeons, anesthesia, Surgical Pre-Authorization (SPA), and interdisciplinary teams to ensure readiness for surgery, compliance with clinical recommendations, and optimal surgical outcomes. The Nurse Navigator supports patients through pre-operative preparation, education, and coordination of required clearances while promoting quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a clinical liaison between patients, surgeons, anesthesia, Surgical Pre‑Authorization (SPA), and interdisciplinary teams to ensure readiness for surgery.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical recommendations and optimal surgical outcomes.
  • Support patients through pre‑operative preparation, education, and coordination of required clearances.
  • Promote quality, safety, and patient satisfaction in all aspects of care.
Required Qualifications
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in perioperative services, orthopedics, spine surgery, case management or care coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of elective surgical workflows and pre‑operative requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Experience in a specialty or orthopedic hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with surgical pre‑authorization processes.
  • Experience with patient education and care navigation roles.
