Description:

Provides care under supervision of physician or registered nurses for clinic patients, according to established standards and practices. Performs various lab procedures when necessary and in accordance with competency.

  Competencies:

• Under the direction of the physician; perform basic patient care duties including, but not limited to, obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, and collecting specimens (including phlebotomy, site-specific).
• Assist providers in examination and treatment of patients and with procedures; assist with patient flow through the clinic.
• Answer phone, record messages, and assist providers with patient-related calls.
• Assist in scheduling tests, results review, and pre-certification.
• Document information related to patients.
• Assist with medication refills.
• Administer medications/immunizations according to provider orders.
• Clean and restock exam rooms; clean equipment per policy; order stock supplies from the supply department; maintain sterile technique and use universal protocol.
• Perform routine clerical duties such as locating patient charts, filing, and completing routine forms.
• Attend/completed required meetings and in-service training; perform other duties as assigned.

• LVN License in state of employment or compact.
• BLS certification.
