The Opportunity:Hospitality as a Leadership Core
At Stanley’s Famous Pit BBQ , we believe that hospitality is not just a service—it is a mindset. Inspired by the philosophies of Danny Meyer’s Setting the Table and the principles of Unreasonable Hospitality , we view service as a sequence of tasks, but hospitality as how you make the guest feel.
We are seeking a Catering & Events Manager who thrives in a collaborative environment. We are looking for the "Antidote" to typical industry friction—a leader who acts as the positive common denominator for team success. You will join a very strong management team where mutual respect and professional conduct are non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities & The "Excellence Reflex"- The Excellence Reflex: You lead by example with a natural reaction to fix what isn't right and a constant drive to improve the guest experience.
- Cultural Stewardship: You act as a guardian of our team health, proactively squashing drama and communicating effectively to maintain a strong, professional team dynamic.
- Improvisational Leadership: You use your wit and knowledge to react to unique guest needs in real-time, moving beyond a "script" to provide a personal touch.
- Shared Ownership: You ensure our guests feel so connected to our community that they talk about our restaurant as if it were theirs.
Five Core Emotional Skills
Consistent with our internal Hospitality Guide, we hire based on these essential traits:
- Optimistic Warmth: A natural radiance and kindness that draws people in.
- Intelligence: An insatiable curiosity and a desire to see those around you enriched.
- Work Ethic: A deep‑seeded care for doing a job well because it reflects who you are.
- Empathy: The ability to sense a guest's agenda and connect with how they feel.
- Self‑Awareness & Integrity: Understanding how your mood affects the team and choosing to do the right thing even when no one is looking.
We believe that a balance between work and nonwork activities is essential to maintaining quality performance. To support our team, we offer a robust financial and wellness package:
- Earning Potential: Total compensation includes a base salary plus bonuses and gratuity , with a potential gross income of $75,000 annually or more .
- Health & Wellness: Group health insurance with electable coverage for dental, optical, and life insurance.
- Retirement: 401k retirement plan.
- Paid Time Off: 5 Days PTO provided upon hire for salaried managers.
- 10 Days (80 hours) annually after 1 year of service.
- 15 Days (120 hours) annually after 3 years.
- 20+ Days for long‑term tenure (up to 25 days).
