Patient Care Tech / PCT Telemetry (Central Telemetry Monitoring)
Location:
Tyler, TX. Full‑time, day shift. Role located in the monitor room and does not involve direct patient care.

- UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital, 502 licensed beds, advanced acute care, 24‑hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians, and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
- Work under limited supervision of nursing and medical staff, performing all duties including assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
- Observe patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
- Obtain and record patients’ vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
- Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
- Measure and record patients’ intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assist patients with range of motion, and draw blood.
- Assist in providing treatments to patients, performing technical procedures such as feeding tube and catheter administration, suture/staple removal, splinting of extremities, and performing ECGs as ordered.
- Coordinate daily activities for the assigned unit, including general clerical and administrative support, and participate in performance improvement activities to enhance and maintain personal and departmental standards of performance.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role, prior to providing direct patient care.
- 5 years’ experience in acute or long‑term care.
- Completion of approved CNA or PCT certification, or senior year of nursing school with less than one semester to complete the program.
- Maintain active certification in the State of Texas.
