Bachelorsor Masters degree from an accredited college or university with a major insocial, behavioral or human services.
Experience in mental health services and criminal justicepreferred. Must have good written andverbal communication skills and be computer literate.
The individual will provide case management, psychosocial rehab/skills training, competencyrestoration (legal skills training), and court advocacy for clients deemedincompetent to stand trial (IST). Will be required to visit individuals in jailand home settings. Ability to work with persons with disabilities, to assessconsumer needs, to establish recovery plans, to make productive referrals, to advocate for consumer, and to work independently and effectively. Must be able to cope with frustration, towork non-judgmentally with consumers, and to respond to changing needs of incompetentconsumers.
Knowledge of and ability towork effectively with community resources and within criminal justice system. This position may require the employee to drive representing the Center and therefore must have current Texas driver's license and meet insurabilitycriteria. Ability to communicate effectively and prepare written assessments and progress notes. Must type and havebasic computer skills.
