Salary Range: $63,818 - 95,727
Supervises the daily operations of a water treatment plant. Responsible for ensuring all treatment processes remain in compliance with TCEQ regulations. Prepares and submits all internal and external reports. Ensures the plant always has appropriate chemical inventories. Responsible for ensuring all facility maintenance needs are met. Maintains all facility supplies inventories. The position reports to the Water Treatment Superintendent.
Essential Job Functions:- Supervise plant personnel.
- Monitor trends and determine the best course of action as they relate to changing water quality conditions.
- Trend chemical use and order chemicals as needed.
- Submit all internal and external reports as needed daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Must have proper knowledge of water treatment processes and techniques.
Job Functions:
- Evaluate employee performance by observation, and discussions with employee and or employee’s immediate supervisor.
- Managing employees' licensing requirements is met by prioritizing their attendance in training classes and renewing their licenses.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings.
- Meet, plan, and discuss plant maintenance issues with Plant Operator III. Formulate specific plans to resolve said maintenance issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of water treatment techniques, ability to assess water quality conditions and determine best of action to take in various water quality conditions.
- Must be able to sit for up to 8 hours, stand for up to 4 hours, lift, push, pull or carry up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to operate a personal computer and be familiar with entire Microsoft Office suite of programs and how to use them.
- Must be able to work indoors or outdoors for long periods of time in various weather conditions that include weather extremes.
Must have (5) years of water treatment experience, and (2) years supervisory experience. Must possess a valid TCEQ Class B Surface Water License or be able to obtain within (12) months of employment. Must possess a valid Class C Texas Driver’s License with a clear driving record.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in:
Engineering, Science, Management, or a related field desired but, not required.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
