About the Role

Grace Community School seeks a wise, conscientious, and spiritually mature Elementary Assistant Principal to help lead and shepherd its elementary division.

Working closely with the Elementary Principal, this leader plays a vital role in cultivating a safe, orderly, and Christ-centered learning environment where young students thrive academically and spiritually. The Assistant Principal supports faculty development, reinforces positive student behavior and discipleship, partners with parents, and ensures that daily operations reflect Grace’s mission and core values.

Essential Job Functions

Leadership and Administrative Support

  • Partner with the Elementary Principal in faculty recruitment, onboarding, observation, and professional growth.
  • Observe and coach teachers to support instructional excellence and biblical worldview integration.
  • Assist in developing class rosters and building the annual schedule.
  • Help lead staff meetings and support overall division planning.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Principal, proactively addressing division needs and opportunities.

Student Behavior and Discipleship

  • Develop and communicate clear guidelines for student behavior rooted in biblical principles.
  • Support teachers as the primary disciplinarians while ensuring consistency and equity in policy implementation.
  • Document and oversee student discipline processes with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Review discipline policies, attendance procedures, and division handbooks annually.
  • Promote a culture marked by Christ-like character, integrity, and accountability.

Supervision, Operations & Campus Programming

  • Coordinate supervision of arrival, lunch, dismissal, and key campus areas.
  • Create and manage supervision schedules.
  • Oversee weekly chapel scheduling, including speakers and student participation.
  • Coordinate programming needs for chapel and special events with operations teams.
  • Oversee safety procedures and campus drill coordination.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A vibrant and growing personal faith in Jesus Christ and alignment with Grace Community School’s Statement of Beliefs.
  • Deep commitment to Christian education and biblical worldview integration.
  • Demonstrated servant leadership with strong relational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and evaluate faculty.
  • Sound judgment in student discipline and parent partnership.
  • Strong organizational skills and operational awareness.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and emotional maturity.
Background and Experience Qualifications
  • Valid teaching certification.
  • 8–10 years of successful teaching experience with demonstrated impact on student learning and culture.
  • Prior school leadership experience preferred.
  • A master teacher capable of modeling instructional excellence.
  • Strong alignment with Grace Community School’s mission to educate, equip, and encourage students to influence the world for Christ.
