• Primary Stroke Center
• Total Beds: 69
• COVID-19 vaccination required

• ICU Beds: 6
• Stepdown Beds: 12
• First-time travelers considered upon review

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience

Med/Surg ICU & Stroke patients, including:

• Sepsis
• DKA
• ARDS
• Multi-system failure
• ETOH / IVDA
• Complicated post-operative patients
• Post–cardiac arrest
• COVID patients

• ICU: 1:1–3 (based on acuity)
• Stepdown: 1:4–5

• Adequate PPE provided

• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS

• ICU experience
• Tracheostomy care
• Ventilator management
• Chest tube management
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
• Experience with general Med/Surg patients and stroke care

• CNA support: 1:10
• No charge nurse; team lead takes assignments
• RN/phlebotomy draws blood
• Hospitalist coverage 24/7
• Centralized telemetry monitoring with tele tech
• Unit receptionist available

• Charting System: EPIC
• Equipment:
  Alaris pumps, Pyxis

• Possible floating to Med/Surg units, in rotation

• 1 shift to learn unit flow

• Weekend rotation:
  Every other weekend
• No on-call requirement
• Time off requests:
  Not approved
