. The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing non‑clinical pharmacy operations, managing pharmacy technician staffing, and ensuring a positive customer experience. The role requires a certified pharmacy technician and a strong understanding of pharmacy workflow and compliance.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and maintain accurate records under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy cashiers, providing coaching, training, and performance management, and making decisions regarding discipline, termination, and scheduling.
- Coordinate pharmacy workflow, ensuring efficient operations, clean and orderly environments, and adequate supplies.
- Delegate, direct, and assign non‑clinical work to pharmacy staff, holding them accountable for timely completion of tasks and maintaining workflow efficiency.
- Prepare and file required reports and records for company, regulatory, and government agencies.
- Drive process and technology roll‑outs, champion change, and engage the team around action planning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, state and federal laws, and pharmacy inventory management tasks that do not require pharmacist licensure.
- Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and adhere to company policies related to pharmacy errors and the Continuous Quality Improvement Program.
- Assist and support Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager in analyzing pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service.
- Maintain PTCB certification and other required pharmacy and healthcare certifications, and pursue professional development opportunities.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations).
- Previous people management or leadership experience.
- Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.

Salary RangeHourly: $22.50 per hour – $31.00 per hour. The actual hourly salary within this range that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors.
