PurposeThe Domestic Auto Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Domestic makes and models. This role requires advanced diagnostic capability, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate repairs. The technician ensures vehicles meet manufacturer standards of performance, safety, and reliability.
Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, and maintain Domestic makes and models with advanced diagnostic capability.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues using diagnostic tools, perform tests, and identify necessary repairs.
- Perform a variety of mechanical repairs and services, including removal and reinstallation of parts, and complete service procedures.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to assess service and repair needs based on mileage and condition.
- Document diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and recommendations clearly and accurately.
- Perform quality-control checks to ensure repairs meet OEM standards.
- Communicate findings with service advisors and customers when needed.
- Uphold shop standards for cleanliness, organization, and workflow efficiency.
- Wear ANSI Z87.1+ impact-rated safety glasses at all times, and use prescription eyewear if needed.
- Wear safety footwear (slip-resistant, impact-rated) and gloves appropriate to the task (chemical, cut-resistant, heat).
- Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety procedures; use lockout/tagout on electrical systems or high-voltage components.
- Lift vehicles using certified lift points; inspect lift arms and safety locks before elevating a vehicle.
- Handle batteries, chemicals, coolants, and oils according to safety standards.
- Keep work areas clean and free of trip hazards, oil spills, and debris; ensure proper ventilation when working with exhaust, fumes, solvents, or adhesives.
- Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately and inspect tools daily.
- Operate scan tools, lifts, alignment machines, and specialty equipment only if trained.
- Follow manufacturer instructions for airbag systems, high-voltage components, and ADAS systems.
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician.
- ASE Certification preferred
- OEM-Specific Certification preferred
- ADAS Certification preferred
- Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional communication with customers and internal staff.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces.
- Ability to bend, twist, kneel, climb, and stand for long periods.
Medical, Health Savings Account (HSA), Dental, Vision, 401k, Paid Time Off, Holiday Pay. 4 Day work Week on a Monday-Thursday schedule (4 ten-hour shifts). Sign-on bonus: $1,500.

This role is a fast-paced auto environment with constant noise, moving equipment, power tools, and frequent physical activity including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting for extended periods.
