Assist the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a safe, clean environment for our customers.

- Provide outstanding customer service and assist customers with product selection.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming department environment.
- Check product quality, review sell‑by dates, and appropriately handle expired items.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Recommend grocery items to customers, inform them of specials.
- Report product ordering and shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions and incidents.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report safety risks.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations, maintain temperature logs for cooler cases.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and teamwork.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
- Effective communication skills.
- Any retail experience.
- Proficiency in a second language.
- Ability to educate customers on product knowledge and provide recommendations.
- Current knowledge of product quality and freshness standards.
- Strong inventory and ordering management skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and preventive maintenance practices.
- Capability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
