Maintenance Technician II (Multiple Shifts)
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the timely repair and preventative maintenance of plant equipment, including filling machines, metal detectors, case erectors, packers, sealers, pasteurizers, motors, pumps, and conveying equipment.
Qualified applicants must possess tangible experience in troubleshooting mechanical/electrical breakdowns in manufacturing production equipment. Technicians must follow all established safety, GMPs, and environmental standards and adhere to all plant technical standards. They must also follow all federal, state, local, and company regulations, including OSHA, FDA, EPA, and SQF.

- Rapidly assess, analyze, and resolve complex problems with limited information or direction, demonstrating intermediate troubleshooting methodology and extending beyond basic technical knowledge.
- Manage oneself effectively, utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of plant personnel, clearly explain perspectives, and listen actively.
- Work flexible schedules as needed, including nights, weekends, and holiday shifts.
- Serve as a technical resource, providing guidance and assistance to operations personnel.
- Contribute valuably to the team.
- Identify symptoms of problems and determine root causes.
- Complete standard work orders accurately and efficiently, meeting or exceeding all quality standards.
- Check work for accuracy and correct mistakes.
- Operate safely, following all applicable EHS policies, and report EHS issues regularly.
- Adhere to all FS&Q policies, reporting FS&Q issues and preventing improper practices.
- Respond to maintenance calls and work orders promptly, adopting a teaching mentality and positive demeanor.
- Innovatively multitask and shift priorities quickly while maintaining focus and professionalism in a fast‑paced environment.
- Exhibit energy, resilience, determination, and strong analytical skills, challenging the status quo.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement and reliability opportunities.
- Follow Chobani’s safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred: 2‑year technical trade school certification, military applicable certifications, vocational training, and/or journeyman license.
- 2–5 years of experience in a food production/manufacturing environment operating, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment in filling, packaging, and other processing lines; dairy, food, or beverage industry experience preferred.
- Self‑sufficient, reliable resource capable of explaining complex nuances and improving processes.
- Strong understanding of process changes and competency implications.
- Experience with systems such as pumps, mechanical drives, lubrication, fasteners, piping, proper tool use, motors, pneumatics, sensors, proximity switches, automatic valves, and other basic mechanical processes.
- Proficient in operating power tools and maintenance shop equipment.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
- Skilled in using technical manuals and precision measurement tools.
- Experience with CMMS/EAM web‑based applications for work orders.
- Work on feet for up to 12 hours, lift/push/pull up to 60 pounds, and maintain good attendance.
- Comfortable with climbing ladders, working at heights, overhead, confined spaces, and extremes of temperature.
- Active job requiring speaking, listening, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the shift.
