As the next Wastewater Collections Superintendent for the City of Twin Falls, you will manage and direct the City’s wastewater collection operations and staff, providing strategic leadership for a critical public works function. You’ll oversee system operations, guide supervisors and staff, coordinate with engineering and contractors, and ensure the City’s wastewater and stormwater collection systems are operated and maintained in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
In this leadership role, you’ll work closely with the Public Works Director and Assistant Public Works Director, Engineering, consultants, and contractors while exercising independent judgment to plan, organize, and improve departmental operations.
Description:As the Wastewater Collections Superintendent, you will:
- Plan, organize, and direct wastewater and stormwater collection system operations
- Lead, supervise, coach, and evaluate department staff, including managing complex personnel matters
- Coordinate with Engineering on subdivision, commercial, and capital improvement projects
- Work with consultants, contractors, and developers to ensure compliance with City standards
- Prepare and manage the department’s annual budget and participate in budget meetings
- Oversee contracts and projects associated with the Capital Improvement Plan
- Keep leadership informed of work progress, challenges, and improvement opportunities
- Attend meetings, conferences, and training to stay current on industry practices and regulations
- Respond to citizen questions and concerns in a courteous and timely manner
- Promote compliance with DEQ and EPA regulations and the Wastewater Operator License program
- $85,280–$101,920 annually
, depending on experience - Full-time, exempt position

- High school diploma or GED
- Ten years of wastewater operations or collections experience
- Six years of management experience (or an equivalent combination)
- Strong leadership, communication, budgeting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage complex operations and personnel matters with professionalism
- Class IV Idaho Wastewater Collection License
- Valid State of Idaho Driver’s License
- Residency within a 15-mile boundary of the City of Twin Falls within twelve months of hire
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
This position is primarily based in a general office environment with regular interaction with field operations, construction sites, and project locations. Occasional site inspections and meetings outside the office are required.
