INTERIOR CLEANING SPECIALIST

Position Overview:

As an Interior Cleaning Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping us to keep a high standard of cleanliness and appearance at our Magic Valley Mall and shopping areas. You will be responsible for cleaning a variety of spaces and surfaces mostly focused on the interior of the buildings. There may be some occasional outside duties. Perform cleaning tasks of common areas and restrooms including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash collection.

You will be cleaning floors, windows, and walls. This position also requires the operation of specialized equipment such as floor scrubbers, carpet extractors and vacuums and the ideal candidate is comfortable with that. This position requires strong physical stamina to walk and stand on a very hard surface for the entirety of the workday. The ideal candidate would enjoy physical activity, high attention to detail, driven, resourceful, self-motivated, works well with others, and is capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine cleaning throughout the mall, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming and emptying trash containers.
    • Clean and maintain common areas such as corridors, entrances, and seating areas to enhance the overall appearance of the property.
    • Operate cleaning equipment like floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and vacuums.
    • Clean and sanitize restrooms including toilets, sinks and fixtures to ensure a hygienic environment for visitors.
    • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste.
    • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and consumables as needed to ensure uninterrupted cleaning operations.
    • Identify facility maintenance issues such as burnt-out lights and damaged fixtures and report them to be corrected.
    • Follow safe work practices and guidelines while performing cleaning tasks.
    • Assist with special cleaning projects and tasks as assigned.
    • Provide an exceptional customer service experience by listening to and responding to requests from tenants, visitors, and other team members in a positive and professional way.
      Qualifications:
      High school diploma or equivalent required
      Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services
      Proficiency in the use of cleaning equipment and tools including floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, vacuums and mops
      Strong attention to detail and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality cleaning results
      Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
      Good communication and interpersonal skills with a positive and professional demeanor
      Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as interact and get along as part of a team
      Flexibility to work both shifts (morning and afternoons) and weekend hours to cover operational needs in a 7 day a week operation
      Physical stamina and strength to perform cleaning tasks including lifting, bending, squatting, and standing for extended periods of time

      Compensation and Hours:
      Starting Pay is $14 per hour
      This is a part-time position targeting 24 hours per week. Primary schedule would be (4) six-hour shifts in a 7-day work week including weekdays and weekends
      Morning Shift hours are primarily 6:30am - 12:30pm or 8:00am - 2:00pm
      Afternoon Shift hours are primarily 3:30pm - 9:30pm or 1:30pm - 7:30pm
      Work Schedule may vary with seasonal needs requiring flexibility in hours and days of the week of availability to include different hours, weekends and holidays as needed.
