As a Custodian for the City of Twin Falls, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for City staff and the public. This part-time position is scheduled for 20 hours per week and focuses on routine cleaning, minor facility support, and customer service to ensure City facilities are well-maintained and presentable.
In this role, you will work independently under general supervision while coordinating as needed with City staff and external vendors. Attention to detail, reliability, and a service-oriented mindset are key to success.
Description:As a Custodian, you will:
- Clean and maintain assigned areas within City facilities, including offices, restrooms, hallways, meeting rooms, and public spaces
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot clean floors and carpets
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
- Dust and wipe furniture, fixtures, equipment, windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
- Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas
- Clean and maintain custodial equipment and tools
- Assist with room setup and breakdown for meetings and events
- Perform minor repairs or assist with basic facility tasks as needed
- Maintain exterior walkways and entrances, including debris removal and snow removal
- Track and order custodial and maintenance supplies
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to staff and visitors
- Follow all City policies, procedures, and safety practices
- $17.93 – $21.52 per hour

- High school diploma or GED
- At least one year of custodial or maintenance experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience)
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to safely use cleaning materials, chemicals, and custodial equipment
Qualification:
- Valid State of Idaho Driver’s License
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
This position works at City Hall in a general office and public facility environment. Duties are primarily performed indoors, with occasional outdoor work to maintain building entrances and walkways. The role may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and requires standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating custodial equipment.
