Behavioral Health Child and Family Therapist

Job Summary

Provides, oversees, and/or administers a wide range of psychosocial evaluation/assessment, diagnostic, counseling therapy, group therapy, family therapy, crisis intervention, and case management services in a clinical environment. The role requires a high degree of independent decision-making and program administration, with emphasis on treating children ages 3 and up. Leads and trains lower-level counselors, social workers, and interns as appropriate.

Salary Range: $57,000 - $85,250 DOE

Longevity Bonus:

  • $6,000 after one year of full-time employment
  • $6,000 after two years
  • $8,000 after three years

Production bonus also available.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Work or related field. Current or license-eligible Idaho Master Social Worker license in good standing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of evidence-based clinical social work and mental health counseling principles for children and adults.
  • Interviewing and evaluation skills.
  • Record-keeping proficiency.
  • Knowledge of community mental health resources and clinical procedures.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and administrative decision-making skills.
  • Ability to evaluate therapeutic progress and adapt accordingly.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, legal and ethical issues, and community support services.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide counseling, therapy, and crisis intervention; develop treatment and discharge plans.
  • Conduct assessments and refer clients to appropriate services.
  • Maintain case files and documentation for legal and clinical purposes.
  • Coordinate with other professionals and agencies.
  • Lead outreach and community education activities.
  • Supervise clinical staff, interns, and students.
  • Participate in safety, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives.
