Job Summary

The Vice President of Economic Mobility & Workforce Innovation is the senior workforce officer of the College and provides dynamic leadership and administrative oversight to the College’s workforce programs and services in partnership with internal (to ACC, i.e., Instruction) and external entities (business/industry, community agencies/entities). These include but are not limited to the following:
Apprenticeship Programs, Career Exploration/Training and Back-to-Work Programs, Micro-credentialing, Non-credit-to-Credit Programs for students, associations, and community agencies, etc. The VP works collaboratively with the College President, the Foundation, and the Provost & VP of Instruction in the outreach and exploration of:

  • Economic Growth & Development
  • Strategic Community Partnerships
  • Innovative Workforce Education/Training Programs (non-credit)
  • Unlocking talent and economic mobility potential of ACC students with a focus on equity and completion

The VP guides continuous improvement and innovation of workforce & economic opportunity programs to meet the needs of diverse students and community partners on behalf of a multi-campus college. A successful candidate is a bridge builder with a strong workforce programs and external partnerships background, at ease with the following:

    Staying innovative, adapting to changing circumstances, adjusting priorities, and driving forward to achieve desired outcomes.

    Listening to understand the needs of our learners, the community and ACC with the ability to convey ideas and prioritize initiatives.

    Fostering a culture of mutual trust and respect, sharing the vision and the road map, ultimately motivating and inspiring team members to move mountains.

Required Qualifications
  • Earned master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution OR a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution AND two years’ relevant experience.
  • Five years’ progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education, non-profit, or corporate setting.
  • Supervisory experience and experience in budget preparation and management.
  • Proven experience leading teams toward successful collaboration in the development of workforce training that will meet the present and future needs of the business/industry in improving the economic mobility of participants.
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying and engaging key strategic external partners (individual or institutional) for the purpose of building collaborative initiatives to deliver programs, services, curriculum, industry partnerships, etc. The…
