Our client is a leading independent co-educational school in West London, set within 25 acres of beautiful grounds and offering outstanding facilities. The school is seeking an exceptional Music Teacher to cover maternity leave from April/May 2026 through to Spring 2027, Director's responsibility may be dispersed among staff for an exceptional Music to take on teaching responsibility.

As Director of Music, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing a clear, ambitious vision for music across the school, encompassing both academic music and musical performance. You will lead and manage the Music Department, working closely with other Heads of Department—particularly the Head of Drama—to deliver a rich and coherent creative arts provision. You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner, able to teach confidently and effectively across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, and to inspire pupils of all abilities.

• Proven experience and success in choral and/or orchestral leadership, and/or a strong interest in musical theatre.
• A broad and progressive musical outlook, with the enthusiasm to engage pupils across a wide range of musical genres.
• A willingness to support and encourage pupils to explore music through a variety of performance opportunities, ensembles, and forums.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to oversee and support a music departmental team.
• Accompaniment skills to diploma level (highly desirable)
