Initially for 1 academic year Salary: £89 – £110 per day (dependent on experience) Support Autistic Young People to Thrive in a Specialist Setting An Autism Provision in Twickenham is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support secondary-aged students (11–16) from September 2025. This is a full-time, term-time only position (Monday to Friday), initially for one academic year.

About the Role:

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with autistic students within a specialist provision, supporting access to learning, social communication, and daily routines. The role involves: – Providing consistent, one-to-one and small group support for students aged 11–16 – Promoting communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation – Supporting learning across a broad secondary curriculum – Assisting with the implementation of individual education and support plans – Collaborating closely with teachers, therapists, and families – Encouraging independence and confidence within a structured, supportive environment Applicants should have: – Experience or a strong interest in working with autistic young people – A calm, adaptable and empathetic approach – The ability to work effectively within a team and follow structured support strategies – An understanding of how to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing – A relevant TA qualification or experience in a specialist or mainstream secondary setting (desirable) This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
