About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Site Manager to lead a roof upgrade project on a sheltered housing block in Twickenham. This is a start-to-finish management role, requiring strong leadership, technical roofing knowledge, and a proactive approach to quality assurance and health & safety.
You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards, while maintaining a professional and considerate approach in a live residential environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the project from mobilisation through to completion and handover
* Direct supervision and strict management of roofing contractors and subcontractors
* Coordinate all site activities, materials, labour, and logistics
* Maintain and enforce high standards of health & safety compliance
* Oversee and implement robust quality assurance (QA) procedures
* Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety inspections
* Monitor programme progress and take corrective action where required
* Liaise with residents, client representatives, and stakeholders professionally and respectfully
* Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Visiting Contracts Manager
* Ensure all documentation, permits, and certifications are correctly managed and filed
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering roofing or refurbishment projects
* Strong knowledge of roofing systems and upgrade works
* Experience managing subcontractors in occupied residential settings (sheltered housing experience desirable)
* Excellent understanding of UK health & safety legislation and site compliance
* SMSTS certification, First Aid at Work, CSCS and Enhanced DBS
* First Aid at Work (preferred)
* Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills
* Ability to manage programmes and maintain strict quality control
