Senior Security Specialist, Facility Security Officer (FSO)
Job SummaryAttalon, Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Specialist, Facility Security Officer (FSO) to lead critical security programs at our Tustin facility. Reporting to the Security Manager, you’ll oversee compliance with government regulations, enhance security protocols, and deliver impactful training while collaborating with internal stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact, protect sensitive materials, and drive innovation in a fast‑paced, high‑security environment.
Responsibilities- Serve as the site's Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) for additional facilities
- Develop, maintain, and administer security programs and procedures in compliance with the 32 CFR Part 117:
National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM) - Collaborate with government agencies, corporate leadership, and internal teams to ensure compliance and foster effective communication regarding security operations
- Oversee and implement security measures, including security education, training and awareness programs, workplace violence prevention, insider threat programs, and contingency planning with crisis management support
- Manage the Physical Security Program, including Access Control Systems (ACS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), visitor management, and response efforts
- Ensure the compliance of Classified Information Systems (IS) by supporting Information System Security Managers (ISSMs), Officers (ISSOs), and privileged users through administration, monitoring, and maintenance tasks such as auditing and patching
- Contribute to the Insider Threat Program (ITP) by addressing potential risks and supporting the Insider Threat Senior Program Official (ITPSO)
- Act as a Security Liaison with the Attalon Cybersecurity Team to ensure compliance with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) standards
- Investigate security violations, cybersecurity incidents, thefts, data losses, and breaches, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence
- Serve as a leader or key contact for Operations, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), emergency coordination, and protection of International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) data
- Respond to alarms, security incidents, and other emergencies, including after‑hours and weekend situations
- Improve processes proactively and deliver actionable solutions to identified challenges
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization through verbal and written methods
- Education:
5+ years of Industrial Security experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of experience with a Master's degree - Security Clearance:
Active U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level, background investigation completed within the last six years - Certification: FSO certification
- Citizenship:
Must be a United States Citizen
- Additional 4 years of applicable work experience
- Familiarity with systems such as Defense Information System for Security (DISS), National Industrial Security System (NISS), Security Information Management System (SIMS), and eMASS
- Strong working knowledge of ITAR regulations and CUI requirements
- Hands‑on experience with managing Physical Security Programs, including ACS, IDS, CCTV, visitor management systems, and emergency response programs
- Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment while prioritizing a diverse workload
For California, the salary pay range for this role is $77,486.00 - $.
