Job Responsibilities- Assists the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects.
- Leads and develops Team Members, ensuring courteous, friendly, efficient service to customers and Team Members.
- Works with Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
- Assists in analysis of sales, reports, and labor.
- Helps prepare annual sales and expense projections and budgets.
- Assists with ordering and inventory management.
- Resolves team concerns or issues.
- Acts as point person and departmental head in the absence of the Team Leader.
- Sets high standards for retail execution.
- Fosters a positive teamwork environment, mutual respect, and outstanding morale.
- Maintains awareness of customer flows and directs Team Members to satisfy and delight customers.
- Selects, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and counsels Team Members to Americas work.
- Communicates and maintains safety and security standards for Team Members.
- Provides timely, thorough performance evaluations.
- Consistently communicates and models Whole Foods Market vision and goals.
- High energy, enthusiasm, and affinity for products, core values, and company philosophy.
- Extensive knowledge of meat products.

- Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.

- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
- 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months supervisory experience.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Standing/walking 6–8 hours in an 8‑hour shift.
- Hand use: single grasp, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Required motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA‑approved cleaning chemicals.

- Ability to work in wet and cold environments.
- Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
