Day Translations is seeking a skilled Interpreter for an on-site contract position in Tustin, CA. The Interpreter will facilitate communication by accurately and fluently interpreting spoken language during the 4-hour USCIS interview. Responsibilities include ensuring clarity and cultural sensitivity, maintaining confidentiality, and adapting communication to diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will adhere to industry standards and uphold professional ethics.

• Proficiency in Amharic and English, with a strong command of both written and spoken forms
• Interpreting skills, including active listening, note-taking, and delivering accurate, clear translations in real time
• Knowledge of cultural nuances, practices, and sensitivities related to the languages being interpreted
• Ability to remain impartial and maintain confidentiality in sensitive settings
• Experience with consecutive and/or simultaneous interpreting is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory
• Professional certification in interpreting or related field is highly desirable
