Role OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on senior-level Data Engineer to own end-to-end data pipeline reliability while also supporting reporting and business intelligence needs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in transitional environments, values accountability, and is comfortable partnering directly with Finance and Operations stakeholders.
This position will take full ownership of data engineering initiatives, including re-architecting pipelines, improving reliability, and restoring trust in business reporting. The role bridges backend data engineering and frontend BI capabilities, ensuring data systems are accurate, proactive, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities- Own data pipeline reliability and end-to-end data movement
- Re-architect and modernize ETL/ELT workflows during platform transitions
- Design and implement proactive monitoring and alerting systems
- Support cloud and enterprise system migrations
- Build new data pipelines and improve legacy environments
- Develop and optimize SQL transformations and validation processes
- Support and build business-facing reporting solutions when needed
- Partner directly with Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders
- Coordinate with distributed or offshore resources as required
- Strong SQL expertise for data transformation, debugging, and validation
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
- Understanding of data orchestration concepts (Airflow, SSIS, or cloud-native equivalents)
- Experience with at least one major BI platform (Power BI, Looker, Tableau, etc.)
- Ability to work effectively in evolving or transitional technical environments
- Strong communication skills and business-facing experience
- Cloud migration or modernization experience
- Exposure to regulated or healthcare data environments
- Experience rationalizing or improving BI platforms
- Familiarity with Google Cloud, Azure, or similar platforms
- Ownership mindset with strong accountability
