Job Summary

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at Tuskegee University is seeking a Post‑Doctoral Associate (PDA) with expertise in Sustainable Bio‑Nanocomposites.

The PDA will lead a group of graduate students in the synthesis, processing, and characterization of nanoparticles and their polymer and fiber composites derived from natural sources. Additional responsibilities include writing technical reports and manuscripts for publication and making presentations at monthly meetings and conferences.

• Lead graduate students in research projects related to nanoparticle synthesis and composite processing.
• Perform characterization of materials, including morphological, microscopic, thermal, mechanical, and antimicrobial properties.
• Write technical reports and research manuscripts.
• Present research findings in monthly meetings and at conferences.

• Doctoral degree in a relevant field with a strong record of publications.
• Experience in supervising students.
• Familiarity with synthesis of nanoparticles and processing of polymer and fiber composites.
• Ability to characterize material properties such as morphology, microstructure, thermal behavior, mechanical performance, and antimicrobial activity.
• Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain one.
