THIS TRAINING IS ONLY FOR THOSE SEEKING A CAREER & FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT IN THE CARPENTRY TRADE.
This course teaches structure repair & remodel.
- Door & window repair & replacement
- Installing & finishing sheet rock
- Caulking
- Installing Trim - door, window, baseboard, crown
- Installing & repairing flooring
- Stud wall (wood & metal) framing
- Simple electrical & plumbing

Eligibility requirements:
- 1. age 18 - 24 Phone:
- 2. eligible to work in the U.S.
- 3. valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- 4. High school diploma or GED
- 5. ability to pass a background check
In-person interviews & assessment required for acceptance into training.
Training location: 1300 James Harrison Parkway, Tuscaloosa, Al - Skilled Trades does not pay lodging expenses.
Classes meet on Wednesday & Thursday....5pm - 8pm
For 14 weeks beginning February 25, 2026
Upon satisfactory completion of training, you will be required to work a 400-hour paid internship with West Alabama Contractors through our STePS employment placement service.
