Then Buff City Soap might be a perfect fit for you! We currently have an opening for a Shop/Makery Leader position at our location in Midland Village, Tuscaloosa.

Buff City Soap hand makes delightfully smelling soap, skincare and household products free of harsh ingredients and full of plant-based goodness. We are a destination for gifts and parties. Founded in 2013, we are a rapidly expanding retail experience with many locations.

• Manage all store operations including guest engagement/service, production, inventory, scheduling, personnel, cash handling, cleaning, reporting, and related tasks.
• Build, train and lead a team to provide a wonderful Buff City Soap experience for our guests.
• Manage and track inventory of raw materials, finished products and supplies.
• Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate responsibilities to team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Multitask related to product production and guest engagement in the shop/makery.
• Conduct performance assessments, provide feedback and set goals to improve sales performance.
• Mentor the team in a player/coach role to maintain an upbeat, fast-paced, and fun environment.

• Basic computer skills and knowledge.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must not be sensitive to fragrances.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers.
• Ability to lift or assist in lifting items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.
• Ability to perform cleaning tasks to maintain Makery/shop cleanliness.

• Shop/Makery hours vary slightly by location; most locations open 10:00 a.m. Mon-Sat and 10:00, 12:00 or 1:00 on Sun, closing between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. nearby.
• Leader hours are flexible, with some weekend work.

• High school degree or equivalent required.

• Management experience in retail/restaurant industry preferred.

We hand make products free of harsh ingredients and full of nourishing plant-based goodness. We operate Soap Makery locations where products are made onsite in front of guests with transparent processes. We avoid artificial detergents, synthetic dyes, and harsh chemicals. Fragrances are manufactured to be phthalate-, paraben-, and formaldehyde-free. You can customize scents and ingredients.
