About the RoleJoin a dedicated team in Tuscaloosa as a Telemetry RN working in a state-of-the-art 42-bed Heart Failure / Stroke Unit. This travel nursing job focuses on caring for patients with complex neuro-cardiac conditions, including acute stroke and heart failure. Collaborate with experienced RNs, cardiologists, and neurologists to deliver best-practice, evidence-based care using Meditech EMR.

Alabama nursing jobs - Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 13, 2026 – July 12, 2026)
- Setting: Heart Failure / Stroke Unit (42 beds) — Telemetry unit, cardiac nursing, stroke unit RN
- Ratio: 1:6 nurse-patient ratio
- Shift: 12-hour days (07:00 – 19:00), every other weekend and holidays as required
- Hours per Week: 36 (option for up to 48 hours per week)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,840–$1,940/week
- Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site, acute care nursing
- EMR: Meditech (experience with Meditech preferred)
- Dress Code: Solid Navy Scrubs

Job Requirements
- Associate's degree in Nursing (required);
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred - Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or Compact State (no temporary licenses; NURSYS verification required)
- American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or Red Cross equivalent (required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred; candidates with at least 18 months of experience will be considered if 1 year is recent in Med/Surg Telemetry or cardiac/neurology acute care
- Experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and heart failure care strongly preferred
- Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed (float pool or cross-coverage)
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients with neurological and cardiac diagnoses, including acute stroke and heart failure
- Monitor, interpret, and document cardiac telemetry and neuro assessments using Meditech EMR
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed interventions; adhere to ACLS and stroke protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (cardiology, neurology, rehab) to coordinate patient-centered care
- Perform patient education on diagnoses, medications, discharge planning, and recovery plans
- Support unit staffing needs by floating to other units or hospitals as required
- Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, and safety standards to ensure excellent patient outcomes
- Work in a specialized Heart Failure / Stroke Unit with multidisciplinary support
- Hands-on experience with complex cardiac and neurological patient populations
