Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiac Surgical ICU / Cardiac Step-Down (Nights)
Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Schedule: 36 or 48 hrs/week | Night Shifts | Every-Other-Weekend Rotation | Holidays Required

About the RoleProvide critical and step-down care to adult and geriatric patients recovering from complex cardiac, thoracic, or vascular procedures. The ICU and step-down units support advanced hemodynamic monitoring and post-operative management with guidance from a cardiovascular educator. You’ll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality, safety, and patient-centered care in this dynamic environment.
RequirementsEducation
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
Licensure
Active Alabama RN license or compact RN license (no temporary licenses accepted)
NURSYS verification
Certification (All Required)
BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association
Red Cross Provider Course (for ACLS equivalency)
NIH Stroke Certification
Preferred Certification
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) if working in pediatric cardiac step-down or ICU
Experience
At least 2 years of RN experience
, including 1 year in CSICU or cardiac step-down
Will consider candidates with 18 months of total RN experience
, of which 12 months must be in the specialty area
Deliver complex postoperative care and advanced monitoring in ICU and step-down units
Float as needed to other units or hospitals within the system
Maintain compliance with safety protocols and practice guidelines
Provide compassionate, patient-focused care in a secure, healing environment
