Overview

Warren Averett is currently assisting a client in the Tuscaloosa area in their search for a seasoned Vice President of Operations to lead and oversee core operational functions. This role is responsible for driving strategic growth, operational efficiency, and profitability while managing day-to-day activities across claims processing, eligibility, billing, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight of eligibility, billing, and claims programs
  • Manage implementation of new clients, plans, and reporting structures
  • Identify and resolve operational and system-related issues
  • Design and implement automation procedures and serve as IT liaison
  • Ensure compliance with billing, credentialing, and reporting standards
  • Oversee claims adjustments, appeals, and electronic submissions
  • Lead performance monitoring and reporting across departments
  • Develop and enforce policies to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Serve as a liaison with providers, payers, and internal departments
Supervisory Scope
  • Directly manage multiple department leaders across Claims, Imaging, CSR, Eligibility, and Billing
  • Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and policy adherence
  • Maintain departmental SOPs and uphold processing integrity standards
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in operations or healthcare administration
  • Proven leadership in claims operations and customer service environments
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and healthcare systems (IBM iSeries, Genelco Group+)
  • Ability to travel occasionally and manage high-level operational demands
