Role Description
We are seeking a full-time, on-site Health Information Management (HIM) Director to join our team in Tuscaloosa, AL. The HIM Director will oversee the daily operations and management of health information systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and policies. Responsibilities include managing patient records, implementing and maintaining information systems, leading a team of HIM professionals, providing staff training, and ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and security.
Collaboration with healthcare teams to improve data management processes and reporting is a key aspect of the role.
Qualifications
- Experience in managing health information systems, overseeing data accuracy, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership, team management, and staff development skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, HIPAA policies, and data security practices.
- Proficiency in health information technology and electronic health record systems.
- Ability to analyze, problem-solve, and optimize processes effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is required; RHIT or RHIA certification is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment is an asset, particularly in mental health facilities.
