NormalWork Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; some evenings, weekends, & holidays required.
Job Summary:The Parent and Family Program Coordinator assists with the planning of Parent Orientation and other university family events. Assists with communication and marketing plans to parents and family members.
AdditionalDepartment Summary:
Serves as a vital member of the Parent & Family Programs team, supporting all department programs/services/events including Parent & Family Orientation, Family Weekend, communication, social media, and other large‑scale event programming. Shares in responsibility with the Assistant Director for Orientation Leader recruitment, selection, and training. Oversees the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and supervision of NODA graduate interns, Lead Orientation leaders, one graduate assistant.
Oversees department communications through parent e‑newsletter and social media platforms. Reports to the Assistant Director of Parent & Family Programs. Completes required training. Promotes a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace. Holds staff accountable for completion of required training.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher.
Skills and Knowledge:Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with a variety of students, families, faculty/staff. Demonstrates commitment to supporting all students. Creative problem solving, conflict resolution, and excellent customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in higher education or communication; OR Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year(s) of related professional experience. Experience working with students and/or parents in a college setting. Student development knowledge. Large‑scale event planning and execution experience.
