Position SummaryThe Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) at The University of Alabama invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions at the rank of Associate Professor in Water Resources Engineering.
Research Focus- Field hydrology
- Water observation technologies and sensor platforms
- Hydroinformatics and data management
- Artificial intelligence for hydrologic observation
- Multilevel water observation and edge computing
Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in water resources engineering and related core programs.
Minimum Qualifications- Earned Ph.D. in Architectural, Civil, Construction, or Environmental Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly publications and research impact.
- Interest or record in engineering education and service.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Potential to construct a quality research program.
- Excellent teaching potential at graduate and undergraduate levels.
- Over 5 years as tenure-track or tenured faculty at a leading R1 institution.
- High-quality, nationally recognized research publications.
- Significant scholarship in civil, construction, environmental or related engineering.
- Progress toward or possession of professional licensure (FE or PE).
- Exceptional collegial, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
- Cover letter including department name, position rank, and specialty area.
- Curriculum vitae.
- 4-6 page statement of research interests and plans.
- 1-2 page statement of teaching interests and plans.
- Names and contact information of at least four references.
