Job SummaryThe Administrative Assistant I provides administrative support for the operations of unit. Performs routine and well documented administrative tasks. Acts as office liaison/receptionist. Receives and routes phone calls, emails, and/or guests. Maintains files and enters data. Operates standard office equipment such as personal computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.
Additional Department SummaryThe Invention Convention (IC) of Alabama seeks to increase participation of students in grades 6 to 12 in invention education. This project involves professional development for teachers, competition event planning, and coordinating with schools and families about the IC competition. This position assists with planning and carrying out training. Assists with planning and presenting conference presentations. Communicates with participants in programming, and organizing instructional materials and resources.
RequiredMinimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED or higher.
Skills and KnowledgeTime management skills. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of planning professional development for educators. Knowledge of Alabama K-12 educational systems. Science pedagogical content knowledge.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s or master’s degree in an education field. Experience in science education. Experience as a certified classroom teacher.
