Detailed Position InformationThe Department of Information Systems, Statistics, and Management Science at the Culverhouse College of Business, University of Alabama, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Management Information Systems with a start date of August 16, 2026. Successful candidates will be expected to conduct and lead independent, high-impact research in MIS and/or Cyber Security, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and contribute to departmental and university service at a level appropriate for the rank of Assistant Professor.
Potential teaching assignments range from a large lecture section of an introductory MIS course to graduate, including PhD, courses.
Candidates should provide evidence of high-impact research. We are looking for candidates specializing in the following areas:
Human-AI interaction, Impact on IS education & Software Development
A track-record of external funding is a plus. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching. Preference will be given to those with experience in teaching courses related to Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Systems Analysis and Design, Software Engineering, and Database Management.
Minimum Qualificationsyears of prior academic work experience at well-recognized research-oriented universities.
