Overview
The role of the District Sales Manager is to lead the sales and marketing efforts for The Nucor Plate Group in the South Texas and Louisiana territory in support of taking care of our customers. This position will require extensive travel. Must be willing to relocate. The successful candidate will be responsible for quoting and securing business: spot and contract, providing forecasts, and recommending new business and customers.
Supporting the Plate Group and Nucor Enterprises strategic growth initiatives are essential. Nucor teammates are expected to participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Bachelors degree in a business-related field (e.g., Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline)
- Proven experience in steel plate sales or a related industrial sales environment
- Frequent travel required, approximately 50-75% of the time
- Must be able to travel by car and airplane as needed
- Regular exposure to heavy manufacturing and industrial environments, including steel mill operations
- Presence in areas with high temperatures, loud noise, dust, and moving machinery
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots may be necessary during site visits
