About the RoleThis is an entry-level Assistant Project Manager position designed for a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or Construction Management who is looking to begin a career in the construction and manufacturing industry.
You’ll work onsite in Tuscaloosa alongside experienced Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, supporting active projects from pre-construction through execution. This role provides hands-on exposure to real projects, structured training, and a clear path for professional growth in project management.
What You’ll Be DoingAs an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day execution of construction projects by ensuring information is accurate, organized, and moving through the system correctly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting Project Managers and Senior Project Managers with daily project updates and assigned tasks
- Tracking and updating work orders, schedules, and procurement information in our project management system
- Maintaining organized project documentation, correspondence, and approvals per established SOPs
- Coordinating with vendors to track material orders and delivery status
- Reviewing shop drawings for completeness and alignment with project scope before submission
- Assisting with change order preparation and documentation
- Supporting budget tracking and cost control for assigned project components
- Participating in project planning, coordination, and pre-handoff meetings
- Verifying document accuracy and resolving discrepancies before work is released
- Ensuring project compliance, scope accuracy, and quality standards are met

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Construction Management
, or a related field - Strong organizational and analytical skills

- Comfortable working with numbers, budgets, and schedules

Prior industry experience is not required
, but internships or exposure to construction, manufacturing, or woodworking environments is a plus.
