Position SummaryFull‑time position available on or after December 1, 2025 in University Budget Services. The incumbent is responsible for developing and administering campus budgets for specific functions or departments. The role involves managing budgeting policies, preparing reports, supporting financial processes, and providing guidance to stakeholders.
Job Duties- Develop and administer campus budgets for specific functions or departments.
- Assist management with position control, labor cost distribution, and budgetary control functions.
- Prepare budget‑related reports and correspondence.
- Assist with preparing monthly and year‑end closing journal entries.
- Support the management of fund balances, cash flows, and enterprise fund budgeting.
- Maintain and update budget models, tools, and templates.
- Prepare training materials and reference tools to guide stakeholders through budget processes.
- Consult with stakeholders on fiscal organization and budget issues.
- Participate in financial system upgrades, testing, and verification.
- Provide training, guidance, and assistance to other employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Equivalent to two (2) years of relevant experience. An advanced degree may substitute the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience in higher education budgeting or finance.
- Experience working with data query and reporting tools.
- Experience with People Soft Financials and Human Resources.
- Experience preparing budget materials for executive‑level decision‑making.
- Experience supporting financial system testing, upgrades, or integrations.
- Familiarity with position management processes.
- Experience developing or maintaining budget models, templates, or dashboards.
- Working knowledge of financial, budgetary, and accounting principles.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to define problem areas, collect data, and provide recommendations.
- Skill with financial systems, word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to lead and train others.
Anticipated starting salary: $5,178 (step
1) – $5,605 (step
5) per month. Full range: $5,178 – $7,543.
