School Counselor —
Location:
Turlock, CA (2 campuses within 5 minutes of each other).
Schedule:
Full-Time | Non-Exempt. Department:
Fusion Charter / Stan Academy.
Reports To:
Principal. Pay Range: $34.00 – $36.00/hr.
The School Counselor provides direct guidance and counseling services to students enrolled at Fusion Charter School and Stan Academy. This role collaborates closely with teachers, support staff, social work teams, and community partners to ensure students receive the interventions and services needed to succeed. The School Counselor supports student development through individual and group counseling, family engagement, coordination of services, and participation in IEP processes.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to provide individualized interventions for students.
- Serve as a liaison with Social Work staff and work alongside the Supervising Social Worker to support student needs.
- Support coordination with SELPAs and local school districts (including Turlock Schools).
- Provide counseling services to students individually and in groups while maintaining close contact with families.
- Assist in coordinating student services with Stanislaus County.
- Serve as a liaison with community agencies including Mental Health, Probation, Interagency Task Force, and others.
- Attend IEP meetings regularly and support student service planning.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and participate in required school activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support school operations and student success.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s Degree eligible and Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential eligible (authorization in School Counseling). May be enrolled in an approved counseling internship program concurrently.
- Proof of credential authorizing pupil personnel services in School Counseling through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
- Meets all state-required conditions of employment (fingerprint clearance, Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid California Driver’s License, and clean driving record).
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing with students, staff, and families.
- Must be computer proficient and able to work on a computer up to 40 hours per week.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 10 lbs., reach for stored materials, and operate basic office equipment.
- Must have the ability and skill to drive a vehicle.
