Description OverviewThe After School Kids Recreation Aide is primarily responsible for assisting in the Turlock Corps Community Center Summer Day Camp Program and recreational sports programs. The Aide will assist the activity center coordinator in planning and supervising various portions of the After School Kids programming.
Duties and Responsibilities- Liaison between staff, parents, and public volunteer groups when the activity center Coordinator is out of the office
- Coordinate and implement the Christian education program
- Responsible for ensuring all necessary supplies for the Christian education program
- Help plan and implement a disciplinary system
- Attend all staff meetings
- Keep open communication with parents, after-school children, activity center coordinator, and Corps Officer(s)
- Keep current on new programs, techniques, and equipment as resources permit
- Inform the activity center coordinator of activities, equipment, and facility needs
- Ensure all equipment is properly stored at the end of each activity/program
- Develop high-quality programs to meet the recreational needs of the community within available resources
- Responsible for the children at all times during After School Kids program hours
- Report discipline problems to the activity center coordinator
Record incidents with appropriate forms - Willingness to call Child Protective Services and/or police when needed
- Assist in developing and implementing recreational and athletic events with the activity center coordinator
- Set up and clean up all areas used in programming, as needed
- Assist in keeping statistics of programs and events
- Other related duties as required
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Age 18 or older (required)
- CPR and First Aid Certification (required)
- Experience working with children
- Ability to work with a diverse background
- Team player
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)
- Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software
