The Department of Urban Design and Landscape Architecture (LAUD) at Bilkent University invites applications for full-time appointments at the rank of all levels (Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Instructor). We seek to hire for research and practice-based positions. These positions are open until they are filled.

Bilkent University, Department of Urban Design and Landscape Architecture is a design-oriented program that bridges Urban Design and Landscape Architecture. It fulfills a unique and leading role in undergraduate education of urban design in Turkey. LAUD's multi-disciplinary faculty and open, pluralistic attitude to education enrich its students with social, environmental and aesthetic values. With a multidisciplinary faculty and an innovative educational model, the department invites applications for full-time positions at all ranks in architecture and landscape architecture.
Teaching capability that actively and creatively addresses contemporary and emerging topics in landscape architecture, urban studies, and spatial design is a core value ulty members are expected to engage in cross-disciplinary dialogue, creative teaching, scholarly research, and service to the department.
- Undergraduate training in architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning or related fields.
- PhD degree in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, urban planning, environmental design, or related fields in humanities, social sciences, or environmental sciences
- Publications in refereed/indexed international journals
- Teaching experience and capability to teach in one or more of the following areas:
- Urban studies
- Ecology / environmental design
- History and theory
- Basic design and/or urban design studio courses
- Undergraduate and graduate training in architecture, landscape architecture or urban design.
- Teaching experience and capability to teach in one or more of the following areas:
- Construction, materials and site design
- Plant Material / botany
- Professional practice and design
- Basic design and/or urban design studio courses
- A cover letter describing qualifications for the position, as well as current and future research plans.
- A teaching statement.
- A research statement. (For research-based position)
- Electronic copies of selected publication. (For research-based position)
- A portfolio. (For practice-based position)
- Contact information (mail, email, phone) for three academic references.
- (Optional) Evidence of teaching excellence (e.g., teaching evaluations).
