Job OverviewA law firm seeks a transactional electrical patent attorney to join their Intellectual Property Group. The position is available in multiple locations, with a preference for candidates based in Texas, Tennessee, Tampa, Raleigh, or Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in patent preparation and prosecution and a strong ability to work independently.
Duties- Prepare and prosecute patent applications in the electrical and computer science fields.
- Collaborate with clients to develop patent strategies.
- Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
- Manage a portfolio of patent cases independently.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
- Strong preference for candidates with a portable business of $500k or more.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to a state bar.
- Registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
- Strong writing and research skills.
- Excellent academic credentials (top 25% required).
- Effective communication and client management abilities.
