Responsibilities
- Performs specific cleaning duties of assigned areas in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures of the Environmental Services Department
- Performs job duties as assigned while demonstrating willingness, ability, and team spirit to provide optimal customer satisfaction.
- Assists with orientation/in-service and attends, demonstrates, and participates in required in-services, performance improvement activities (including EXCEL), and other educational programs
- Provides training in all facets of cleaning to new employees and motivates other employees where needed or requested by supervisory personnel.
- Assists management team oversee the responsibilities of the Environmental Services Department
- Assists with managing the Teletracking bed board and assigned beds as needed
- Assists with managing a shift as needed
- Assists with huddles/starting/ending a shift as needed
- Assists with Surfacide cleans as needed
- Never say “That’s not my job:” improve everything I do
- Work with co-workers of every department to make NMHS better for the patients and their families
- If you see a spill or trash, take ownership of it and clean it up
- Work as a team with EVS to ensure that every area is cleaned at a high level daily
- Complete daily/weekly detail sheets
- Log in/out of Teletracking with pager number
- Log in/out of Teletracking for lunch/break
- Ensures excellent customer service
- Responds to management and internal departments in a timely manner
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Provides support to co-workers and other departments as required/requested
- Follow AIDET and High Profile Cleaning during every patient cleaning interaction
- Ensure that supplies are used appropriately at all times.
- Adheres to NMHS behavioral standards
- Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
- Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues
- Adheres to all HIPAA regulations
- High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent; required
- EVS experience; preferred
- Customer service experience; preferred
- Chemical/SDS knowledge; preferred
- Excellent organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills; preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills; preferred
- Good initiative and time management skills; preferred
- Must complete EVS related training during initial training and annually thereafter
- Must complete hospital based training annually as assigned
