The Registered Nurse at North Mississippi Health Services Systems is responsible for providing safe, quality patient care using the nursing process, maintaining effective communication with the multidisciplinary team, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires leadership skills in prioritizing, delegating, and evaluating work assignments, as well as effective problem-solving abilities to respond to changing patient needs.

• Uses the nursing process to provide safe, quality patient care and document accordingly.
• Complies with NMHS policies and requirements as directed by the Nurse Manager and Educator. Provides patient/family education and acts as a resource for existing staff and new employees.
• Participates in training and onboarding activities (Preceptor class) to ensure proper training of new employees.
• Maintains communication with multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care to the patient.
• Attends daily huddles to ensure proper assignments and identify team members for the shift.
• Projects caring, friendly and helpful image to patients and other customers; uses patient communication boards to keep patients and families informed.
• Maintains compliance with NMHS behavioral standards.
• Keeps current with changing trends in nursing practice and completes annual reviews and unit-specific requirements; completes continuing education hours online and in the classroom.
• Complies with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements; holds RN licensure in the state (or compact state licensure).

• Education:
  
  Associate's Degree in Registered Nursing (Required).
• Licenses and
  
  Certifications:
  
  RN license (state or compact), CPR, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale Certification.
• Experience/Knowledge:
  Complete RN orientation and unit-specific checklist requirements; maintain competency and effective communication and teaching skills; knowledge of regulatory and accrediting standards; ability to prioritize, delegate, and evaluate work assignments; ability to assimilate data and report progress.
