Position Overview
- The MYPAC therapist delivers all mental health services (e.g., individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, substance abuse treatment, etc.).
- Completes all required clinical assessments and documentation.
- Provides clinical oversight and interventions related to crisis management, individualized service plans, and wrap‑around meetings in coordination with the Primary Service Coordinator.
- Provides targeted clinical interventions based on identified youth needs through assessments and plans.
- Ensures timely completion of assessments and case documentation in line with program requirements.
- Collaborates with the MYPAC Wraparound Facilitator to address client mental health service needs.
- Conducts admission evaluations and develops the Preliminary Action Plan within 24 hours of admission.
- Completes programmatic assessments within designated time frames, using results to plan clinical interventions.
- Develops initial clinical goals, objectives, and interventions for the Individual Service Plan within fourteen days of admission.
- Co‑facilitates the initial Child and Family Team meeting within fourteen days, then monthly meetings thereafter.
- Performs monthly ISP reviews, monitors progress, and implements treatment interventions.
- Conducts at least one individual therapy session per week, two family therapy sessions per month, and medication monitoring twice per month in the home.
- Attends all scheduled psychological evaluations, psychiatric reviews, and medication management telemedicine appointments.
- Collaborates with youth, family and staff psychiatrist to modify interventions, treatment plan goals, medications, and other services as needed.
- Attends clinical staffing with the staff psychiatrist or nurse practitioner at least once a month.
- Provides and coordinates youth‑focused clinical services, building on family and community strengths.
- Works in a team context with the Wraparound Facilitator, family members, community agencies, and stakeholders across family‑serving systems.
- Conducts quality assurance activities such as auditing case files.
- Prepares program reports for compliance requirements.
- Attends weekly staff meetings, supervisions, and facilitates monthly case staffings with the psychiatrist.
- Familiar with all emergency procedures.
- Sensitive and responsive to cultural differences in the service population.
- Coordinates discharge/aftercare plans beginning at admission and at least ten days before discharge.
- Provides 24/7 support for the child/family through on‑call services.
- Provides transportation when necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Valid and current mental health certification (PCMHT or CMHT) and/or license (LPC, LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMFTA) within 30 days of employment.
- Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a related behavioral health field. Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience working with children and youth with serious emotional disturbances and families with complex needs in a similar or more restrictive placement environment.
- At least 21 years of age, a valid Mississippi driver’s license, a clean driving record, proof of legal auto‑liability insurance, and willingness to use a personal vehicle for organization business.
