Associate Director - Child Care Center

Summary

Summary:

Coordinates and assists the Director with the overall operations and management of the Child Care Center. Acts as the Director in the Director's absence. Supports the Director in a fair and consistent manner with the supervision and evaluation of staff in an assigned area or department. Available to all childcare staff and parents to help resolve issues as they arise. Understands and remains in compliance with all childcare regulations and guidelines.

• The Associate Director oversees all operations and management of the Child Care Center, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
• Manages personnel, adheres to budgetary guidelines, and works closely with staff to uphold regulatory compliance in the absence of the Director or at an ancillary site.

• Coordination and assistance of Director in overall operations and management of the Child Care Center.
• Act as Director in the Director s absence and support supervision and evaluation of staff.
• Be available to childcare staff and parents to help resolve issues as they arise.
• Maintain understanding and compliance with all childcare regulations and guidelines.

• Communicate with parents and childcare staff in a professional and positive manner, with open and honest conversations to resolve issues as they arise.
• Use creativity to develop and stimulate educational experiences.
• Exercise discretion, discernment and tact in confidential matters.

• Assist the director in developing revenue and expense projections for the budget, including childcare fees, wages and equipment needs.
• Monitor center financial performance and implement changes as directed to optimize budget performance.

• Education — Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field (Required). Preferred:
  Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education or related field.
• Licenses and Certifications — MS Department of Health Director Certification within 90 days (Required).
• Work Experience — 4-6 years; 3-5 years in an early childhood setting (Required).

  — Proficiency in organizational, communication, and budget management skills; ability to read/write English; knowledge of childhood illnesses; ability to supervise staff; ability to maintain confidentiality; strong customer service; and ability to work with staff, children and parents. Must be able to communicate effectively with all Child Care Center staff; demonstrated ability to train and support staff; adherence to health, safety and food safety standards;
  
  and involvement in quality process improvement activities.
