employee would be responsible for engaging with constituents who are in need of basic resources, supports either at our agency or across the community, and administrative support for the agency. In addition this position is responsible for coordination of, enrollment in, and data collection for our tax preparation program. Employee would work in accordance with family education and support services principles, policies, and practices in support of our mission:
to inspire healthy child development through the provision of quality family support services

requirements preferred skills
  • knowledge of customer service principles and practice
  • knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • ability to collect and report data and work proficiently within word, excel and other database software programs.
  • strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • demonstrated ability to effectively engage with high-risk individuals with trauma informed and culturally respectful approaches.
  • ability to maintain confidentiality.
qualifications and education requirements

associate degree preferred, minimum of 2 years case management and administrative experience. History of working with families with emergent needs. For this position, bilingual ability in english and spanish is preferred
. Successful applicants will be trauma informed, culturally respectful, have an understanding of the strengthening families protective factors, will be trained in motivational interviewing, and will have experience working with individuals impacted by substance abuse, domestic violence, trauma and/or poverty.

key responsibilities
  • greet constituents within context of the fess platform of serving with trauma informed, culturally respectful practices.
  • assist constituents in completing application/enrollment forms to access services, provide basic emergent needs (diapers/hygiene/food and other items), assist in accessing other community resources.
  • utilize pathways database to assist clients, including intakes, goal setting, and basic needs assistance.
  • collect all necessary data and report on the data collected.
  • assist in promoting our agency by distributing flyers, brochures, emails about our services, classes, programs, and support.
  • represent fess at community meetings and events as well as obtain information and resources from the community for those we serve with the intention of building positive and collaborative community relations.
  • upholds the highest standards of professional and ethical behavior and boundaries.
  • practices careful stewardship of public and private financial and environmental resources.
  • uses strength based, client driven and solution focused practices that enhance independence, autonomy, and support each client's vision for their better future.
additional notes

a valid washington state driver’s license and minimum washington state liability auto insurance required at time of hire. Must consent to background check, although a criminal record is not an automatic disqualification.
