Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) provides recovery-focused services related to the safe and appropriate administration of medical treatment (including medications) as prescribed by the physician. Telecare’s mission is to deliver excellent and effective behavioral health services that engage individuals in recovering their health, hopes, and dreams.
What You Will Do to Change LivesThe Acute RN offers recovery-focused services related to the safe and appropriate administration of medical treatment. Shifts available:
Full‑time 7:00 am–7:30 pm. Wage range: $53.20–$65.73 (geographic differentials apply); shift differentials apply for hourly staff and weekend shifts.
- Demonstrates Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with stakeholders.
- Oversees and provides nursing care in all programs (except Substance Use Treatment programs).
- Completes nursing assessments and coordinates admissions, discharge, and medication reporting at each shift.
- Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with members served and documents progress toward Recovery Plan goals.
- Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings, treatment planning meetings, and community meetings.
- Administers medication and treatments to members served (except SUTS programs).
- Notifies prescriber and Nursing Supervisor of changes in behavior or condition and transcribes physician orders accurately and timely.
- Adheres to medication management policies and procedures and develops and implements nursing care plans (except SUTS programs).
- Assists with restraint and crisis prevention training when employed in inpatient or outpatient programs; no restraints used in Substance Use Treatment programs.
- Monitors self‑administration of medications and documents in resident file (Voluntary Residential Substance Use Programs).
- Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the discretion of management.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of program operations (Required).
- Valid CPR, BLS, CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certificate (Required).
- Must be at least 18 years of age (Required).
- Must hold CPR, CPI, and First Aid certification on date of employment or within 60 days and maintain current certification throughout employment (Required).
- All opportunities are contingent upon successful completion of physical examination, tuberculosis test, criminal background clearance, and degree or license verification. Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle clearance required if position requires driving (Required).
- BA or BS degree (Preferred).
- One (1) year of healthcare experience (Preferred).
- Experience in behavioral health setting (Preferred).
- Excellent listening skills and ability to take detailed notes.
- Ability to concisely repeat back instructions provided by Supervisor.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly understand new concepts and integrate into daily routine.
- Ability to prepare succinct summary reports.
The physical demands represent those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee occasionally required to sit, squat, kneel, twist, push, pull, and lift and carry items weighing 25 pounds or less, frequently walk, stand, bend, reach, and perform simple and power grasping. The position requires manual deviation, repetition, dexterity, and hazardous exposure (Blood Borne Pathogens, Hospital Waste, Chemical & Infectious).
